The Junior Interior Designer is a full-time, exempt, in-office position located at our 5000+ square foot Malvern, PA studio.
We offer the opportunity for future growth within a supportive and fast-paced team serving amazing clients across the Northeast.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design Team Support
- Support Senior Designers with developing concepts, space planning, and sourcing.
- Assist with visual client presentations: mood boards, proposals, image books, renderings, and sample trays.
- Research FF&E options, materials, and finishes aligned with project goals and budgets.
- Attend client appointments, site visits, and project installations as needed.
- Conduct and document field measures with precision, uploading data to the project management system within 24 hours.
- Participate in install days to verify order accuracy, oversee deliveries, and coordinate with installers and contractors.
- Compile and pack all necessary install day materials (e.g., tools, binders, checklists, styling notes) and confirm installer/vendor timing.
- Maintain project documentation, design files, and material libraries. Ensure each project folder is audit-ready and fully organized by phase.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to coordinate design intent and timelines.
- Ensure timely task updates and status reporting in ClickUp with clear next steps and status notes. Maintain 98%+ time tracking accuracy in Harvest.
- Participate in firm meetings, document design team discussions, and distribute recaps within 24 hours to ensure alignment on next steps and responsible parties.
- Maintain consistent communication with the design team and vendors, proactively flagging any delays, issues, or needed decisions before they impact timelines.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership by tracking tasks through to completion and following up with relevant parties until all details are resolved.
- Approach unexpected issues with a solution-oriented mindset; present potential resolutions when raising problems to the team.
- Demonstrate urgency in managing active orders, task completion, and install readiness; escalate time-sensitive items as needed without waiting for reminders.
- Respond to all internal and external messages within 24 hours and provide status updates without being prompted.
- Manage all client purchasing and firm-wide ordering, place and track orders with accuracy.
- Obtain pricing, create proposals, and execute purchase orders in our design management software (Houzz Pro).
- Maintain up-to-date vendor, product, and client data within our system.
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and confirm that all requisitions match purchase orders and specifications.
- Assist with project budget tracking and cost reconciliation to ensure alignment with approved estimates.
- Support vendor contract review and price negotiation to secure favorable terms.
- Generate weekly procurement status reports and vendor performance updates.
- Provide weekly open order updates to the design team to align with install schedules.
- Coordinate deliveries, installs, site measures, and warehouse pickups.
- Receive and inspect studio deliveries; manage damages, claims, and accessory inventory as needed.
- Liaise with the Accounting team on purchase order reconciliation, payment status, and budget accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendor updates and logistical troubleshooting.
- Assist in onboarding new vendors to ensure accurate data entry into Houzz Pro and internal databases.
- Keep the office and sample library functional and organized.
- Answer phones, receive deliveries, and maintain a tidy and professional workspace.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in interior design and/or procurement.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office, and design software (Revit, Photoshop a plus).
- Familiarity with Houzz Pro, Harvest, and ClickUp preferred.
- Ability to multitask and pivot in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Confident in vendor communications, logistics, and contract coordination.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage workflow efficiently and follow through on open items.
- In-office position at our studio headquarters in Malvern, PA.
- Physical ability to move samples and inventory up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional travel to client locations or warehouses.
- Flexibility in daily working hours may be considered, but this is not a hybrid or remote role.

Range between $52,000- $55,000 based on experience
